Homeless LGBTQ young adults in Birmingham, Ala., are being housed with volunteers through a new program. “It’s so important that our youth are given a home because many of them when they come out to their parents they’re kicked out of their home or they’re put in situations that are incredibly stressful,” said Amanda Keller, director of LGBTQ Program Services with Birmingham AIDS Outreach. “So many youth experience suicidal ideations.”
